Ricky Garzon | Lead Planter/Pastor
Ricky is a native of Hutchinson Co. His father, Ricardo Garzon, planted and established a church in Borger in 1980 and was the Pastor for 22 years. Ricky was saved at the age of 18 and was called into ministry at the same time. After spending time as a youth pastor and worship pastor at churches in the area, Ricky and his wife, Kallie were called to plant Redeemer in 2019. Ricky spent a little over a year in a residency with the Redeemer network and also that time with Redeemer Pampa in Pampa, Texas. With a group of like-minded believers, The Garzon’s launched Redeemer in January of 2021. Ricky’s hope is to plant deep roots in Borger that long outlives his memory and also continue planting churches in Hutchinson Co and beyond for the glory of God.

Matt Hernandez | Associate Pastor
Matt was born and raised in Borger. He and his wife Kristen have three children: Lilly, Lincoln and Coulson (aka Tooty). Matt came to know Christ at a young age and has held a number of positions at various churches over the years. He has a bachelors degree in Multimedia Design and Development and functions primarily behind the scenes at Redeemer Borger. By his own words, Matt “quit church” in 2019. He still held on to his faith, but was frustrated, tired and hurt. Through God’s grace, Matt has found healing and restoration to the rest of the Church. Now, his main focus is showing other non-churched believers the grace, mercy and healing that a healthy church body has to offer.

Kristen Hernandez | Worship Leader
Kristen is Texan by way of California. Her parents led a small church in Watsonville, CA until 2020 which is where she first felt God’s calling for her to lead worship. She met her husband Matt in school and the two have bounced back and forth between Texas and California a couple of times before settling down in Borger for good. Kristen homeschools their three kids (Lilly, Lincoln and Coulson) and has been leading worship for several years. She is very excited to be blessed with the opportunity to lead worship at Redeemer Borger with hopes to encourage and uplift the people through music.

Chapin Renshaw | Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Chapin is originally from Colorado. She came to Texas in 2013 where she attended West Texas A&M University. Chapin became a permeant Texan when she met and married her husband Daniel in 2017. They have one son. Daniel and Chapin have been residents of Borger for eight years. Chapin’s passion for ministry and sharing the gospel started at a young age, and grew in college as she participated in the Baptist Student Ministry and eventually worked as a campus ministry intern. Chapin considers herself blessed to be able to serve as the CMC at Redeemer and hopes to continue the mission of Redeemer kids as a gospel-centered discipleship that will equip and teach our children to love God’s word with their hearts and minds.
